July Court Dinner

The July meeting of the Court and dinner were held on Monday 28 July. The staging of the event was not without some logistical challenges at the last moment, which required some very fast footwork from the Clerk, the Assistant Clerk and the caterers in relocating the event to the Pewterers’ Hall. We received a very warm welcome, after which followed an extremely busy Court meeting, which saw the swearing in of our new Freeman, Andrew Churchill OBE, FREng and the Clothing in the Livery of Professor Mark Pearce and Paul Carless. Following the ceremony all were formally introduced to the Court.

After a reception in the garden, accompanied by live music, we were treated to a splendid dinner paired with some excellent wines. The high points of the evening were speeches from the Master welcoming fellow Masters and Clerks and a witty reply from Patrick Beddows TD, Master Draper. The evening concluded with the traditional Stirrup Cup after which we made our way home having enjoyed a wonderful evening.
