Tour of Sussex Vineyards

On Thursday 24 April eight Founders plus guests and partners gathered at the Halfway Bridge Inn (on the River Rother halfway between Petworth and Midhurst).  The evening started with a local sparkling wine, Nebula, made with grapes from the neighbouring Upperton Vineyard.  Thereafter local foods complemented French wines (bin ends which the Clerk had carried from the Hall cellar on train, bus and foot) plus bottles brought by one of the participating Founders.

The next day a minibus transported the group on a carefully planned but punishing schedule of vineyard visits and tastings to:

Tinwood

Wiston

Kinsbrook (for lunch)

Nutbourne

Roebuck

All participants learned a great deal about Sussex viticulture and viniculture.  Founders attending future events can expect to benefit from the group’s experiences especially at the Summer Dinner which falls during English Wine Week (21 to 29 June).

The Company’s visit now enables orders to be placed at discounted prices.
