Port of London Challenge

The eager Belle Founder crew entered (and finished) the Port of London challenge on the 21st July 2025. Matthew Farrant, Duncan Simms, Roger Blears (welcome for his first trip), Felicity Turnbull, Sarah Harrold and Ed Condry, with Paul Taylor as cox and The Master as passenger, were in the men's division of six boats.

The PoL was raced over three miles from Waterloo Bridge to Albert Bridge. 28 1/2 minutes of hard rowing through a summer rainstorm left us happy if very cold and and even wetter. We came (ahem) sixth, ending with biceps and triceps and all kinds of other bits and pieces well used. Thank you everyone. Next outing is at Kingston as part of the celebration of 1100 years since the coronation of King Athelstan.
