The ERA Foundation Annual Dinner - championing British engineering excellence

What a treat for our Industry Chair, Pam Murrell, to be able to represent The Worshipful Company of Founders at The ERA Foundation Annual Dinner and Lecture, hosted at the Royal Society in London.

The ERA Foundation is a non-profit organisation which supports engineering skills development and aims to bridge the gap between engineering research and its commercialisation and is chaired by our Liveryman, Andrew Churchill OBE.

The slightly terrifying Annual Lecture was, this year, given by Brigadier Stu Nassé OBE, Director of the Uncrewed Systems Centre at the National Armaments Director Group, who spoke about the challenge of modern warfare on battlefields that are now dominated by drones as well as autonomous, remotely-controlled weaponry. During the evening certificates were presented to the winners of the ERA 2026 Clark Prize, including two teachers doing brilliant work bringing engineering into the classroom, something that The Founders’ also supports through its charities.

“Good connections, good conversations, convivial atmosphere,” said Pam. “Thank you to Andrew Churchill for the invite and to Andrew Everett and the ERA team for the excellent organisation of the event.”
